The Jampeta Co-operative Urban Bank Limited was established in the year 1926 by a local businessman late Sri Seela Veerabhadrudu. It was registered as a Co-op Society on 26-06-1926 with a Share Capital of Rs.520/- and has commenced its business operations on 22-08-1926.
The JCUB initially confined its business to the local area of Jampeta and its surroundings within the overall geographical limits of Rajahmundry municipality. The bank had a very simple beginning catering mostly to the financial needs of the local weavers, artisans and small vendors in the vicinity. Advances comprises of Housing, Business, Mortgage and Gold Loans.
Late. Sri Bommana Raj Kumar, Former Chairman of the Board (2001-2020) took the reins of the bank for the first time in 2001 when the Deposits of the bank were only Rs.14.71 Crore. He was a leading businessman in the field of handlooms and textiles. Under his guidance the bank obtained banking license from the RBI in the year 2006. He was elected chairman of the Board continuously for fourth term in succession. The single unit bank having its area of operation limited to Rajahmundry municipal limits, had now widened its scope to the whole of East Godavari district and West Godavari district. The bank has established Eight more branches located at Morampudi (2009), Dowleswaram (2010), Seethampeta (2011), Anaparthi (2016) Peddapuram (2017), Kakinada (2017), Gokavaram (2018), Eluru (2018), Kovvur (2024), Palakollu (2024), Tadepalligudem (2024) & Ravulapalem (2025). All branches are provided with own ATM’s, spacious banking halls equipped with A.C, Lockers, Strong rooms, Cold Drinking water facilities etc.
